Hello, I'm Walter Brew, the owner and director of Harlequin Thunderstrand. You can also contact us with any questions you have about rugs.
I became interested in oriental rugs in 1976 when I apprenticed with a renowned English restorer Karl Kovarik. I then moved to London and began working for established antique Oriental Carpet dealers. I learned a great deal more from them as they were knowledgeable and expected the highest quality of work.
I have worked with some of the most respected and well-known international dealers and prominent galleries in London. I have also travelled abroad to Europe, Russia and the US to work on collections in situ. My work is across the full range of Oriental carpets and textiles, from historically important rugs in major collections, Museums (Fitzwilliam in Cambridge), insurance claims, through to the more ordinary household furnishing rugs.
